Extramon is easy to set up. After installing the software
you'll be asked for the names of the two computers.
Then you'll tell Extramon about the orientation of the
monitors by dragging the monitor icons into position
(see the photo on the right).
The
next step is to decide which computer(s) you want to convert
to dual-monitor configuration.
On each computer, the Extramon main window has a Start
button (see the photo on the right). When you press Start,
Extramon converts the computer to dual-monitor configuration.
Your desktop will expand to fill both monitors. You can
do this on just one computer or on both.
When
a monitor is being used by both computers, you'll see
that Extramon gives you a Switch window (shown on the
right) that allows you to switch back and forth from one
computer to the other.
If both computers have been converted to dual-monitor
configuration then you'll see a Switch window on each
monitor. If you want, you can synchronize both monitors,
in which case you'll only need a single Switch window.
Select this option in the Preferences dialog.
